How To Delete Addresses On Amazon
Did you know that Amazon saves your address book with them whenever you order something through their website? If you’re not particularly comfortable with the idea of them storing this information, read on to find out how to delete your address info from Amazon once and for all.
Even though most people are aware of the potential dangers associated with uploading personal information online, it doesn’t stop us from doing it again and again. Giving Amazon your address is just one of those things that feels safe at first but can have serious consequences in the future. Well, if you’ve decided that now is the time to get rid of your personal details stored in their database, continue reading…
Deleting Your Amazon Address Using Desktop
Login to your Amazon account, then hover your mouse on the part that shows “Hello, NAME” (where NAME will be replaced by your name). From the screenshot below, you can see that my name is clearly indicated.
Hovering your mouse displays more options. Go ahead and click on “Account” under the “Your Account” section.

After clicking your account, you’ll then see a page that will show you all the information about your Amazon account (obviously). Scroll down to the “Ordering and shopping preferences” section and click “Your addresses”.

Clicking on your addresses will show you all the delivery addresses you’ve saved on your Amazon profile. If you have more than one, they’ll still come up here. Now select the address(es) you want to delete and click on “Remove”.
That’s it!

Deleting Your Amazon Address Using Desktop
For mobile users, the procedure is a bit different. Just in case you have no access to a laptop or any desktop computer, you can still do this on your mobile device using the app. I’ve got you!
First, logging into your Amazon app will show you a page like the image below. Click on the profile icon at the bottom part of the page.

Next, you should click on the “See all” link beside the “Your Account” section. By the way, each box under this section is a shortcut to some of the actions you can take on your account. All you have to do is swipe to the right to reveal other actions.

You’ll then see “Your Addresses” under “Account settings”. Tap on it to view the list of saved addresses on your profile.

From here, you can either set an address as the default, edit it or completely remove it.

There’s another simpler and shorter way to do this on your mobile device. Even though Amazon doesn’t allow taking screenshots from this particular menu, I have been able to use other techniques to get a screenshot just to show you guys.
From the first page on the app, just beside your name and default address, tap on the little dropcap as indicated below

Doing this will bring up the menu shown below. To delete your address, you’ll need to click on “Manage address book”. This will then take you to the list of addresses you have on your profile. From there, all you need to do is select the address you want to remove and delete.

Why The Sudden Need to Delete Addresses On Amazon?
There’s a clear security and privacy issues going on with Amazon at the moment (as at the time of writing this). I have personally experienced and seen notifications about login attempts on my Amazon account from different locations around the world and I can confidently say I have never been to some of those locations. These security issues have extended to my AWS account and it’s logical for this to introduce fear into people, as a major downside to using cloud services is the damages caused when there’s a data breach.
Conclusion
There are many reasons why deleting your address info from Amazon is a good idea. The most important one is that it protects your privacy, but it also makes it significantly harder for cybercriminals to steal your identity. If you’ve been ordering stuff from Amazon for a long time, there is a good chance that your address is already saved in their database. Even if you have deleted it in the past, there is a good chance that it is logged in again. Logging into your account and deleting your address info is the only way to protect your privacy, so don’t hesitate and do it as soon as possible.
